Lu focuses on how individuals in contemporary life respond to social discipline. Discipline resides in the gray area between helping and harming, often appearing under the guise of “treatments,” “salvation,” or “caring,” becoming an integral part of the individual, intimately and inseparably. Objects implying various forms of discipline, such as abacus, body weight scales, and cash, are sutured under resin material resembling skin texture, demonstrating healed wounds left by these “treatments.”
